Novel electrolyte with high ionic conductivity - Increased lifetime and performance of batteries in cold/hot environments

Asahi Kasei has achieved a successful proof of concept of lithium-ion batteries with the company’s new electrolyte with high ionic conductivity. This technological breakthrough allows for increased power output even at low-temperature, and improved durability at high temperature. Furthermore, this technology can contribute to lower cost and smaller size of battery packs, further raising the energy density.
